Our Story
At Remojo Tech, we believe everyone deserves access to the digital world. Founded by Hadi Daoud and Owyn Aitken, Remojo Tech began as a small high school club fixing and donating laptops to students who needed them most. Today, it is an award-winning social enterprise supporting Recycle-A-Device, a nationwide initiative closing the digital divide while reducing e-waste across Aotearoa.
Together, Hadi and Owyn have empowered over 1500 rangatahi with tech skills, employed 11 trainers, and diverted more than 16 tonnes of e-waste from landfill by recycling 7000+ devices back into the community. Through strong partnerships with schools, Kura Kaupapa, donors, government agencies, and local organisations, they ensure young people not only receive devices but also gain meaningful career pathways and opportunities to thrive in a digital future.
Beyond digital equity, Hadi and Owyn continue to pursue their passions in finance, research, and advocacy. As recognised leaders in their field, they have presented at events including Spark All-In, the Climate Change and Business Conference, and academic conferences across Europe. Their TikTok campaign with Spark NZ reached 3.7 million views, sparking conversations and driving change at both community and industry levels.
